This past week I felt the need to take a step back from my usual tech-focused activities to reflect and evaluate what is important to me. As an introvert, I need these times to revitalize and prepare for the next "hustle." To help me along on this journey, I read Choosing The Simply Luxurious Life and now feel rejuvenated and ready to take on my next adventure.
I bought the ebook version of Shannon Ables' Choosing The Simply Luxurious Life as a Christmas present to myself this past December. I finally took the time to delve back into it—I never finished the first time around, not for lack of interest but lack of time—and it certainly helped expedite this process of self reflection.
In the coming weeks and months, I have a lot of choices and decisions to make. Now that I've taken the time to evaluate what I need to make me happy with the help of Shannon's book, I feel much more confident moving forward. Below is a video to give you as taste of what Shannon defines as a simply luxurious life.
I cannot recommend Choosing The Simply Luxurious Life more. It just feels good for the soul and helps you set the tone you want for your life. Shannon often references her love of a good cup of tea on her blog or podcast, The Simple Sophisticate, and that's exactly what her book feels like to me: a warm cup of tea that soothes the soul.
Shannon's lessons are timeless and ageless. They range from women putting themselves before the happiness of others to selecting a capsule wardrobe that defines your signature and makes getting dressed in the morning easier. At times I worried that Shannon might be too sophisticated and wealthy to relate to, but she's truly cultivated a lifestyle that is accessible on every budget. Mind you, she teaches high school English so my assumption of wealth was based on the richness of life she has cultivated, not the richness of wallet I had assumed.
If you're like me a need a glamorous hand to guide you in the right direction, do pick up Choosing The Simply Luxurious Life and enjoy!
